SANTA FE COUNTY CONSERVATION ANALYSIS

NEW MEXICO

UPGIS conducted a land and resource conservation analysis for Santa Fe County for the Santa Fe Conservation Trust. We utilized a multi-parameter analysis to discover “hot spots” for conservation within the county. Parameters included buffering existing conservation lands, cultural areas, high quality terrestrial habitat, population growth projections, rare plant locations, riparian buffers, roadless areas, irrigated lands, trail connectors, wetlands and defined wildlife corridors. Our final products included three maps (countywide, detail north county, detail south county), a geodatabase of the results, and the model we used to conduct the analysis so SFCT could run the analysis in the future on their own.
