The Western Landowners Alliance (“WLA”) advances policies and practices that sustain working lands, connected landscapes, and native species.  UPGIS has assisted WLA on a variety of projects that have helped shape how landowners, policy-makers and government work together towards a common goal of healthy landscapes and healthy communities.

Stewardship with Vision Booklet – UPGIS conducted significant GIS analyses to help inform a booklet on the importance of private land stewardship in New Mexico. The booklet can be viewed HERE.

WLA 2017 Policy Recommendations – UPGIS assisted WLA with their 2017 Policy Recommendations by producing a BOOKLET that succinctly states their message to policy-makers at the federal level.

Map Viewer – UPGIS developed an online map viewer for WLA to help them better assess the entire western United States landscape.  With this viewer, the WLA staff and board can explore land ownership, habitat areas, watershed issues and other information critical to their decision making process.  We are not able to show the map viewer due to its private nature, but here is another example of our map viewers that we created for a mitigation client in North Carolina: Mitigation Viewer.
